Turn work methods into skills
Save steps, input requirements and delivery standards so employees can reuse them.
Steps
- 01Review employee skills
- 02Complete methods and resources
- 03Publish an employee version
- 04Test with real tasks
01 Review methods within the employee
Review the purpose, work method and resources in employee creation or editing. Skills are maintained as part of an employee, without a separate skills marketplace. Native agent skills, plugins and MCP tools still follow their own mechanisms.
02 Complete the method and resources
Define how to handle inputs, what to deliver and how to judge the result. Include reusable instructions and resources in the skill, and review them in the editor. Remove material unrelated to the task.
03 Select skills and publish the employee
Saving reference material alone does not create assignable work. Select employee skills that define the work and its outputs, then publish the employee version. Native extensions do not require separate declarations or bindings.
04 Test representative work before updating
Run a trial with authorized inputs and check the output, sources and missing information. Fix the skill, publish the employee again and repeat the check. Existing tasks retain their original version; changes apply to new tasks.
Example: save a proposal comparison method
Extract each proposal’s costs, conditions and limitations, then compare them consistently. Keep sources, flag anything not covered by the materials, and deliver a comparison brief.
Skill instructions do not grant data access
Instructions do not automatically grant email or file permissions. Check the workspace, material access and agent capabilities before running. Private source files remain subject to author and asset permissions.
